STONE INDUSTRY OF LEILATEPE CULTURE

چکیده

One of the characteristic features Leilatepe archaeological culture Chalcolithic period (end 5th millennium BC - first half 4th BC) is a unique stone product. This was studied mainly on basis monuments in territory Azerbaijan. Extensive excavations were carried out Leilatepe, Beyuk Kesik I, Poylu II, Galayeri settlements belonging to and numerous tools discovered. Similar also discovered as result limited residential areas – Agili Dere, Selakhan, etc. this culture. The bearers led sedentary life engaged agriculture cattle breeding. their purpose use gives us reason come such conclusion. Thus, during large number quern stones, graters, sickle teeth, etc., typical for early farming, made different types found. explorations showed superiority flint over obsidian products all other culture, except settlement.
